Linux USB Thermometer

TEMPer USB thermometer on Linux Some time ago I bought a cheap Linux USB Thermometer called humor. I was disappointed that they do not work on Fedora. It would be only under Windows with a bad piece of proprietary software.
Finally, I found the blog by Tollef Fog Heen, who had managed to get his temperament, work. Unfortunately, his solution is involved in patching and compiling a kernel.
But since then, it seems that his patch has been integrated into the stock Fedora kernel and it is now possible to read the temperature of her.
The mood seems to be a device USB serial adapter, a serial I2C device on the end. It is not easy to extract the temperature, but Tollef Fog Heen has a simple C program, written at the temperature again.
His program surveys the mood on every second and prints the temperature on the command line. It does not stop until you kill the program. I made a few small changes to the code so that it prints the temperature once like a raw number without extra formatting text and then exits. You can change my source code here.
Disclaimer: I do not know C. I have not changed any of the logic of the code, just the way it prints the output. If the code is faulty, so it was not!
Now I have an executable file, the temperature of the atmosphere, I can think of some buildings application that could use them. How about Nagios plugin?
